Although it's short, so at least you won't have to endure it for long. If I may, I'd like to give a piece of advice because this game could be problematic (spoiler free).

There are random encounters, and then there are areas where you can see the emies run towards you. I got stuck in one of those areas because sometimes the enemies respawn, and my sprite got stuck in a corner where two enemies keep respawning in front of me (I just savestated there, not knowing this was going to happen), forcing me to reset and recover my last saved game. So don't rely only on savestates, use the standard in-game save as well.

I couldn't make head or tails of how the magic crafting system worked, so I used a quick level gain cheat and cleared the game doing only physical attacks. The game was so bland that I just didn't want to invest time into learning how that system worked.Carloshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12461082929719217639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1079946447102636111.post-53169899544981283592021-03-11T08:51:01.811-05:002021-03-11T08:51:01.811-05:00I'll definitely play it -- I only skip games i...I'll definitely play it -- I only skip games if they have official English releases or if I have already played them (and even then I sometimes play them anyway). I don't skip games because they're bad unless they're really really bad and there's a translation patch.Kurisuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00132568197501054206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1079946447102636111.post-84296876641253580742021-03-10T12:42:38.184-05:002021-03-10T12:42:38.184-05:00I would love it if you took time to play the Last ...I would love it if you took time to play the Last Battle. It has a nice atmosphere and it's thankfully short. The battle balance in this game is one of the worst in the system. It would be a good idea to cheat/skip past the brutal encounter rate and grinding for sure - without battles, you could probably finish it in just a few hours. It would be great to get your breakdown of its story, which from what limited Japanese I could understand felt refreshingly small-scale and relatable.

I mostly agree on Wizap - it's very unforgiving and near impossible to figure any of the systems out without good grasp of Japan, so I gave up on it. It feels like one of those games you're supposed to restart over and over again until you are able to understand and min-max the hell out of its stat growth systems.monjuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06814225763955714492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1079946447102636111.post-25325400864068188842021-03-09T13:45:09.797-05:002021-03-09T13:45:09.797-05:00Nice review. It feels like a wonderful and very original idea that ultimately fails a little for not being properly implemented. The final episode also bored me to death and I never bothered finishing the game. It's by no means a bad game, though. Just a curious experiment that could have been better had it been fleshed out a little more.

Now that you mentioned Wizzap, if you want another game to skip, you can add "The Last Battle" to the list. I've started playing it and it's very mediocre, with the most brutal and desperating amount of random encounters I've ever experienced. I started it because it's from the same team who made Jungle Wars 2, but this game is vastly inferior. With a very short and bland plot and practically no character development, a small overworld with not many things to explore, etc. I wouldn't waste too much time on it.

I look forward to your review of Down the World, it looks interesting at least.Carloshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12461082929719217639noreply@blogger.com
